NORTHWEST TERRITORIES NOMINEE PROGRAM (NTNP)

The Northwest Territories (NWT) boasts acres upon acres of untouched forests and a population of just over 40,000 residents. The territory’s economy exploits its vast geological resources, including gold, diamonds, natural gas, and petroleum.

Through the Northwest Territories Nominee Program (NWTNP), prospective immigrants with the right skills and experience may receive a Northwest Territories Provincial Nomination Certificate.  The NWTNP consists of the two immigration programs, the Employer Driven Program and the Business Immigration Program.

Employer Driven Program allows employers to recruit and hire eligible foreign nations who intend to live and work in the Northwest Territories.  This program consists of the following three streams:

1. Express Entry System Stream for Skilled Workers is designed for applicants who meet the eligibility criteria for the skilled worker stream, and who have been accepted into the federal Express Entry pool.

2. Skilled Worker Stream is designed for applicants who have received a valid job offer in a skilled position from a NWT employer.  To be eligible, applicants must have 1 year of full-time work experience in the same position.

3. Critical Impact Worker Stream is designed for applicants who have received a valid job offer in a semi-skilled or unskilled position from a NWT employer.  To be eligible, applicants must have worked in the same position for a minimum of 6 months.

Northwest Territories Business Immigration Program: Business Stream offers a path to permanent residency for individuals who are interested in establishing, purchasing, or investing in a business in the NWT that will provide economic benefit to the Territory.
